Empowering Women in Astronomy – Women in Astronomy Nepal (WIAN)

Launched in November 2015, Women in Astronomy Nepal (WIAN) is a pioneering initiative aimed at increasing the participation of women in astronomy and STEM fields. Under the auspices of the Nepal Astronomical Society, WIAN offers several programs, including Women in Outreach, the Women in Science Award, and various publications highlighting the contributions of women in science. These initiatives not only promote gender equality but also foster a supportive community for women to explore and excel in scientific pursuits. By providing opportunities for recognition and growth, WIAN is inspiring and nurturing the next generation of female scientists, researchers, and pioneers.
